“When Our Plans Fall Through, God has Bigger and Better Things in Mind.”

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Jeremiah 29:11

My childhood and adolescence was filled with abuse and trauma.

Shouting, fighting, molestation, rape

are just a few words that come to mind.

Of course, there were good things in my life as well, yet the level of childhood trauma I have suffered, the things I have endured, can ONLY be overcome by the

POWER of God.

I remember asking God to take my sorrows away, and on occasion, pleading with Him. Yet, He was silent.

I have often asked myself WHY God allowed so much pain in my life and why He did not answer me. Maybe you have asked a similar question about your own suffering.

I cannot claim to understand everything God does, but through studying His Word, I have come to know many things and answer questions I have asked for years.

Why to Read the Bible

If you want to learn more about a person in history, you read their biography. If you want to learn more about God, you need to read His Word. Likewise if you want to talk to communicate with someone from another country, you need to learn their language. The Bible is the love language of God.

Summary of what I have learned…

God does not cause our suffering, sin causes our suffering.

Hurt people hurt other people.

God wastes nothing, not even the horrific things that happen in our lives.

God sent Jesus to save us from sin, He suffered and died for all of creation.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

Romans 8:28

“so that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.”

1 Corinthians 12:25-26
God looks at the big picture, and when we accept Jesus as Savior, we become part of it. This is what the Bible calls "the body of Christ." When one of us suffers, we all suffer, but when Jesus died and ascended into heaven, He changed that for good.

Although we still have suffering now, we have hope that one day soon all things will be restored. When we suffer, yet trust in God, we are made more like Jesus each day.

As Jesus was crucified, so are we when we suffer for the glory of God.

God has a divine plan for your life which is better than what you imagined. To receive this plan, you need to accept Jesus as Savior and trust God to guide you. Remember, God is for you, not against you.

“What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?”

Romans 8:31

Summary

God gave us free will and after Adam and Eve chose to sin, we all were born into sin. Sin causes suffering, but Jesus came to save us from our sins. When we accept Jesus as Savior, we are given access to God’s plan for our lives. This plan is bigger and better than we could have ever imagined.
