Do Not Let Weakness in Your Body Cause You to Lose Your Heavenly Inheritance

There are things written in the Bible which as of late have been described and proven by science.

There are various examples in the book of Job, which describes topics such as the earth’s core, gravity, and the water cycle. (Read more here)

Yet, many of us find ourselves trying to be super spiritual, carefully investigating scripture for ethereal answers, all the while we neglect our minds and bodies.

While the Bible makes it clear that we should seek first the kingdom of God, the Bible also states that the kingdom of God will be brought down to the realm of the physical earth.

“Heal the sick who are there and tell them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.”

Luke 10:9 (NIV)

Indeed, the Lord Jesus has a physical body filled with a divine Spirit which originated from the highest heavens.

By obedience to Yahweh, He was perfected as God’s Spirit worked out God’s Will through His body and mind.

This is the convergence of heaven and earth, the prophecy which began to be fulfilled after Jesus was brought up into glory.

We are called, just as Jesus was, to be perfected through obedience to Yahweh, and holy living.

Certainly, we all have fallen short of God’s glorious plan for our lives, yet that does not mean we should take advantage of the grace afforded us.

We are gifted grace by the new covenant in Jesus, but how we care for and what we do with our minds and bodies is still relevant and important.

“What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase?”

Romans 6:1 (NIV)

Since He knew no sin, Jesus was able to link the physical with the spiritual forming a bridge between earth and heaven.

In this way, He redeemed our minds and bodies from the hand of Satan.

But, let us not forget, it is the responsibility of each person born again in Jesus to “work out” his or her own salvation (Philippians 2:12)

The working out of salvation is the process in which the spirit of God works through and purifies the mind and body.

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind…”

Romans 2:12 (NIV)

Yet, we CONTINUE to consume foods and medications that intensify weakness in the body and cause many to sin.

Most of us are unaware of these weaknesses, and therefore succumb to them on a regular basis, falling back into habitual sin.

A good example of a weakness intensified by an activity or substance is an alcoholic person.

He or she CANNOT consume ANY alcohol, because the alcohol consumes them provoking them to sin.

I believe it is important for each of us to identify the weaknesses in our own minds and bodies, and to avoid anything that activates or intensifies them so that we might be built up in the Truth.

“It is better not to eat meat or drink wine or to do anything else that will cause your brother or sister to fall.”

Romans 14:21 (NIV)

The Holy Spirit can reveal these points of vulnerability but practical wisdom and science also offer insight regarding their identification and treatment.

Through the combination of guidance from the Holy Spirit and practical wisdom, we are not only able to identify our hidden infirmities, but we are also able to recover from them if Yahweh is willing to heal them.

Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” And immediately the leprosy left him.

Luke 5:13 NIV)

Thanks for reading. Much Love, Many Blessings, Jesus is Lord.
