“Evil is Multiplying Like Weeds in a Garden”

“As the weeds are pulled up and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the age.”

Matthew 13:40

As I walked through my garden one morning, I saw some weeds growing near the raised garden bed.

The unwanted plants weren’t inside the bed, but close to it, and I noticed the weeds had already formed seed heads.

So, like any seasoned gardener, I promptly yanked them out! I know what happens when weeds are left to spread.

Then the voice of the Lord spoke to me and said, “Why do you pull up the weeds?”

Because they make seed heads and if I don’t pull them out, the wind will blow their seed, and they will quickly multiply filling up my garden.

They will continue to grow but offer no produce to my garden; they will spread disease, and take resources from the good garden plants.

Then I remembered The Parable of the Weeds.

“The one who sowed the good seed is the Son of Man. The field is the world, and the good seed stands for the people of the kingdom. The weeds are the people of the evil one, and the enemy who sows them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels.

Another question came to mind…

If the weeds are the people of the evil ones and they are allowed to multiply exponentially until the end of the age, what will happen to the good ones (those who serve Christ)?

The answer is, they will inevitably suffer due to the weeds.

But, plants are adaptable and therefore many can resist pests and disease.

And according to God’s Word, likewise are God’s people.

“…we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.”

Romans 5:3-4

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

James 4:7

We are about to see some changes in this world, specifically the United States, that will challenge strengthen our faith by challenging our loyalty to God.

Those who do not serve God will grow more comfortable and complacent.

Until eventually, those spiritually enslaved will become physically enslaved. But, that’s another post in itself.

Thanks for reading, and remember that the only way to be strong is in Christ Jesus.

Much Love, many Blessings, Jesus is Lord.
